Hello there, I’m André, welcome to my website!

I am a physics engineer interested in many topics that compete for my free time. I’ve lived in Lisbon, Munich, Barcelona and Prague. I can hold a conversation in 3 languages – English, Portuguese and Spanish. At the bar, or with a glass of wine, I can also speak French; and I can order food in Polish or Czech.

I studied Engineering Physics at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, Lisbon), specialising in nuclear fusion for my master’s degree. I continued research in this field and obtained a PhD from the same university, developing my research at the Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. I continued at IPP as a postdoc researcher, working with diagnostic development and data acquisition electronics.

Since 2025 I am conducting research in the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Cracow, Poland, still on the field of nuclear fusion.
