Plots and animations for tele-school maths classes

Estudo em casa

In 2020, with the onset of COVID-19 and the confinement measures taken to mitigate the spread of the virus, all parts of society had to adapt. In education, school moved to the TV. This amounted to a great challenge but also an opportunity for advancement on didactic methods. With no in-person teaching and with the looming threat of a Death-By-PowerPoint scenario, I helped develop plots and animations for the grade 10 and 11 class materials on the Portuguese home TV schooling program 'Estudo em casa'. These consisted of simple animations on function transformations made in python with matplotlib matching the visual style of the whole project. Overall the end-result was rather good and the animations are there in the videos, that keep having an audience of confused students well past the public health emergency.
