I joined the MEFT in 2012. A multidisciplinary program encompassing different profiles, from theoretical physics to engineering, passing by a ever-present emphasis on experimental physics.
During the first three years (Bachelor), besides the training in physics, I acquired skills in electronics and programming.
At the Master level, I followed a profile in plasma physics and engineering. I had courses like Data Acquisition Systems, Electronic Instrumentation, Real-time Control, Diagnostic and Measurement Technics. I seized the opportunity to do a semester abroad at TUM.
The work I've conducted for two of those courses originated the article Turning the internet of (my) things into a remote controlled laboratory.
The work for my Master thesis Preliminary Design of the ITER Magnetic Diagnostic Integrators was done in Fusion For Energy in Barcelona, where I had a trainee position. During one semester I conciliated my work (in Barcelona) and studies (in Lisbon) flying regularly to write exams and do presentations. on the last semester I focused on my thesis and Introduction to Research . Finally, I defended my thesis on November 8th 2017, concluding MEFT with a final grade of 17 (in 20).
